Thinking Inside the Box...the $5 Box, that is.

I am neck-deep in my real-life job as a freelance indexer right now, but thought I'd take a moment to share a bit more of my photo treasure box with you.

So, here's one of my favorites...


Aren't these two just the most adorable people you've ever seen? I love everything about this picture - the outfits (cuffed dungarees!), the hair styles, and the rural background.

Here's a closer look....


What do you suppose prompted a snapshot on that day and at that time? And I wonder what they did after the photo was taken... Did they get back to doing their chores on the farm? Did they head to the soda fountain to meet friends? It's always fun to think about the "before" and "after" of a vintage photograph.

A moment captured as a lasting image... a moment that, for them, was simply a tiny portion of a lifetime. For someone viewing the picture, 50 or more years later, that one captured moment often tells a whole story.

just think what blogs will say about us years from now?! interesting thought to ponder, huh? there's nothing better than a black and white photograph...timeless and always tells a story
